Join Us for Our Third Annual U-Pick Season
We’re excited to welcome you back to Swanson’s Mountain View Orchard for our third U-Pick season in the Bitterroot Valley. This year, U-Pick will take place on September 12, 13, 19, and 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1752 Mountain View Orchard Rd.
Like many orchards in the region, we’ve seen a lighter apple crop this year. Even so, we’re grateful for the fruit we do have and are excited to share it with our community. Whether you’re continuing a family tradition or visiting the orchard for the first time, we hope you’ll join us for a day in the orchard and take home some fresh McIntosh apples picked straight from the tree.
What to expect
- $5 entry per family
- 5, 10, 20, or 40-pound picking baskets (basket provided)
- Pick-your-own McIntosh apples from our designated U-Pick block
- Family photos and time spent in the orchard
- Fresh apple cider donuts and frozen apple cider slushies from our apple cider donut trailer
Prices
Due to limited apples in the orchard from this year’s frost impact and rising input costs, our per-basket price has increased to approximately $2.00/lb:

What to Know About Our Montana U-Pick
- Parking is free and available on-site
- No pets are allowed in the orchard due to food safety requirements
- Portable hand-washing stations are available
- Apple availability may vary throughout the season, and the orchard may close early if we sell out for the day
