Ordering is Simple – Here’s How
- Department of Defense (DOD) Fresh Program
- Our apples are available through the DOD catalog when in season.
- Look for apples labeled “Montana” or “Swanson’s Mountain View Orchard.”
- DoD orders are fulfilled through Grasmick Produce.

School Tours
We’re excited to welcome schools and groups to our orchard and packing shed this fall!
- Cost: $5 per child (accompanying adults are free)
- Waived fee: The tour fee is waived with any apple or cider purchase
- Schedule: October 14 – November 22, Tuesdays–Fridays, 10 am–4 pm
- Please note: No tours on October 27 and October 30
- Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis
Each tour includes:
- A behind-the-scenes look at our daily work (washing, sorting, and boxing apples)
- A tasting of 2–3 fresh apple varieties straight from our orchard

Apple Varieties for Schools

McIntosh – The perfect balance of juicy, sweet, and tart flavor — our staple apple.

Empire – Crisp, juicy, sweet-tart flavor with a slightly spicy undertone. This apple starts the season more tart and finishes the season much sweeter.

Spartan – Crisp texture and balanced sweet/tart flavor — this apple is a fan favorite with the kiddos!
- Golden Delicious – Juicy, mild/sweet flavor with a rich, honey-like taste. This apple never fails to put a smile on students’ faces!

We currently serve over 50 schools throughout the state of Montana. To inquire about getting our apples in your school, fill out the form below or email kendall@swansonsmountainvieworchard.com.
Our season begins on October 1st, with deliveries starting in the weeks following and continuing until the end of the year. Please note that availability depends on our apple crop yield and demand!
Orders placed by Monday at 12 PM will be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday of that same week, depending on your location. Orders placed after Monday will be delivered the following week. Delivery days are determined by your school’s location. Your selected date helps us schedule your order but may not be your exact delivery date. We’ll confirm your delivery day by email once your order is processed.
